It had been about three years since I had golfed the unbelievably beautiful Snowmass course. I don’t surprise easily on golf courses relative to their beauty having golfed many of America’s finest from Sawgrass in Florida to Maui, Hawaii's Kaanapali Golf Course. It has been my enjoyment to play the finest of Myrtle Beach, PGA qualifying (Q School) Good – Bad – And Ugly, and courses from the highest mountains to the desert! However, the newly designed Snowmass course showed me why it was rated #6 Upscale Golf Course in the nation by Golf Digest. The bent grass greens and blue grass fairways combined with native grass give you 18 holes of beauty to challenge your skills at 8,000 feet elevation. (Picture is Snowmass Club House.) The pro shop / club house is in a totally new location.

“Award-winning architect James Engh's unique design of the Snowmass Club Golf Course pays tribute to the rugged heritage of ranching families that rooted here over the last century. This 7,008 yard course features an undulating landscape with seven different grasses including bent greens, blue grass fairways and native Colorado mix, creating a one-of-a-kind "Irish links course with mountain flair". Our USPTA-certified golf professionals, caddies, practice area and full service Golf Shop offer plenty of opportunity to improve your game, or keep up with the latest equipment. Our full-service Golf Pro Shop offers all the golf essentials, from balls, clubs and souvenirs to Snowmass Club logo clothing and gear. After James Engh’s touch worked his magic on the entire redesign, the property now includes, a practice facility and first class club house with just the right touch of “rustic elequence” combined with inviting earth elements design which includes a full-service restaurant and bar. Truly this golf course is one of the premier courses on the western slope and in all of Colorado. Five sets of tees offer golfers of all abilities a beautiful and challenging round of golf. May of the holes have total redesign from the layout of the previous course.
As part of the world famous, and luxuriously appointed Snowmass Club, the facilities include luxury accommodations, world class tennis, and one of the leading health facilities in the Rockies. For those who demand excellence I suggest this course and resort, where excellence is a tradition. One won’t find more beauty, elegance, or magnificent views on any course in the Untied States. This is an "Editor's Choice" course!
There are mountain streams, large white-sand-bunkers, breathtaking elevation drops, lakes, and surrounding mountains all waiting a challenge to your game. The greens are kept in “top shape” by the incredible grounds crew.
No wonder this course is great! It is a part of the Crown Golf Properties Corporation.
