More Crystal Cruises

Rhonda Pipkin

Crystal Cruise Line is preparing a Thanksgiving holiday like you’ve never seen.  Why not gather the family and friends together board the Symphony or Serenity, and spend Thanksgiving touring the Panama Canal and the Caribbean Sea.

Book one of their 10- or 11-day voyages departing from either Miami or Costa Rica and kids sail free.

Zip above the rain forest in Costa Rica or opt for a thrilling swim through the Baths at Virgin Gorda, a series of scenic underwater caves (reputed to be haunted by the locals). Or stroll along the charming waterfront promenades of Curacaos and the quaint Creole-style villages on St. Bart’s.

Mind, Body & Spirit Theme cruises will give you opportunity to experience   instruction in yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and featuring expert guest lectures including a wellness seminar from the Cleveland Clinic.

The luxurious 50,000-ton, 940-guest Six-Star Crystal Symphony is one of the most spacious cruise ships at sea. Onboard amenities include grand lounges, full-service fitness facility, Crystal casino, Feng Shui-inspired spa, 360° teak Promenade Deck, two pools, Jacuzzi, award-winning cuisine, and entertainment, in addition to, elegantly appointed staterooms most with private verandahs.

Another great part of Crystal cruises are the Special Interest Lecturers regarding World Affairs, Science, Problem Solving, Music and Theater history.  The Crystal Cruises Creative Learning Institute includes complimentary interactive classes which are designed to enhance quality of life for the passengers.  These classes include:  arts and entertainment, business technology, lifestyles, wellness, and wine & food. Guests receive a certificate of completion at the end of the curriculum.

Crystal Cruises' commitment to excellence and quality of experience does not end with grown-up cruisers. Kids have a variety of great activities to choose from on select Crystal sailings! During holiday cruises and most summer sailings, junior activities feature games, arts and crafts, and other programs under the supervision of experienced Junior Activities Directors. Plus, a children's playroom and babysitting services are offered on all cruises.

The Junior Activities Program is Three-Tiered:

3-7 year olds

8-12 year olds

13-17 year olds

Hours of operation vary depending on the itinerary and number of children on board.  For a small fee, all vessels offer in-stateroom baby-sitting. Guests should contact the concierge on board for this service at least 24 hours in advance.

Activities are determined by age and the number of children on board. On those sailings with Junior Activities Directors, a detailed schedule of events is created at the beginning of each cruise. Once on board, you'll receive Surf Runner, or Teen Scene, the teenagers guide to special activities, our daily newsletter for kids with details for the following day's schedule and other pertinent information.

Fantasia, the children's playroom, offers tables and chairs for arts and crafts, popular Sony PlayStation® game titles, a large screen television set and board games. Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity also feature a teenager's video arcade, Waves. The Library offers children's books and children's videos or DVDs for enjoyment in staterooms.

Kids may choose from a special Junior Cruiser's menu, and Crystal's executive chefs and other culinary staff can prepare custom dishes. The Trident Grill serves complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and more. Baby food, high chairs and booster seats are available.

Doesn’t it just make sense to bring the family aboard the Crystal Symphony or Crystal Serenity?  Besides the usual fantastic dancing, on stage shows and cabaret, impeccable service, fine dining, and spacious suites, the Crystal cruise ships offer a “WOW” program – “Walking on Water” is designed to get the guests interested in outdoor physical fitness

During the upcoming holiday season, don’t have “Christmas with the Kranks,” instead go ahead and sign up for one of these exquisite cruises!  Don’t forget the kids!  Happy Traveling!
