Buckaroo Bill's is Still My

#1

West Yellowstone, Montana

Dining Choice

In the northeast corner at the edge of Yellowstone National Park is the quaint little town of West Yellowstone. Most all of the stores are along the one main street (Canyon) running through town where 912 residents live year around. This town of some 50 square blocks shares a common border with Yellowstone National Park and is the Park's only west gateway.  West Yellowstone considers itself to be the "Hub of Yellowstone Country" because of the excellent location to all the wonders of Yellowstone National Park with the added benefit of all there is to explore and do west of Yellowstone. It is the perfect place to stay to have access to America's finest National Park!

Traveling the world as I do, it is not often that I dine twice a day at the same place.  I make that choice more days than not when in the area fly fishing (usually a 10 - 14 day stay).  The food is that good!  That is me with red bandana on.

Among the great business places in West Yellowstone (Where I have been visiting for some 20+ years now), is Buckaroo Bill's Dining, owned by Bill and Ms. Gaily Arnado offers such fine, rustic, dining that I ate over 70% of my meals there during my June 2004 fly fishing trip that lasted some 14 days. (Picture to the left).

In my trip 2005 my dining experience there was over 85% of my meals.  One won't find finer people caring for their customers than Ms. Gail and Bill, and the quality of food is excellent!  They are also managers, as well as owners.

The menu includes some wonderfully delicious buffalo burgers (very large), barbeque ribs, tacos (very good), and a great variety of just “great western cooking) – oh yes, the pizza is excellent! The food is mostly prepared on the front porch with stainless steel grills and ovens and old time metal grills – right before your eyes. One has the choice of dining inside or outside and enjoy the clean Montana air! Finish the meal off with some of their large servings of diversified ice cream choices to complete the meal. The menu can be viewed at www.buckaroobills.com

Here I am on the "wall of fame" where many pictures of friends, customers, etc. are displayed. I am the fellow with camera (above right hand side - center of picture) and red scarf. (My "rib lunch" being prepared in picture above left.)

Beware !!!

The people standing in line for ice cream are about get the largest

scoop they can possibly imagine - and then some!  Most people

find it impossible to eat a two scoop one!  Really!

The place mats are the best looking ones I have ever seen in a casual dining

(all West Yellowstone is casual) establishment!  They are laminated copies of the

2004 photoandtravel.com article that appeared online and in at least

five Texas newspapers.  Many of my articles appear in lobbies, foyers, framed and placed in individual rooms in B & Bs and resorts, and well as in corporate portfolios.

  Happy traveling.
